Sydney obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The College of St. Scholastica and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) at Augsburg University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
EXPERIENCE
Sydney has experience working with adults in a variety of settings, including community mental health settings and psychological assessment work. Her background includes conducting psychological assessments and providing therapeutic support, which has given her a strong foundation in understanding the diverse needs of clients navigating complex life challenges.
MENTAL HEALTH APPROACH
Sydney believes therapy is a collaborative and supportive process that empowers clients to explore challenges, develop new insights, and work toward growth and healing. Sydney strives to be attentive and compassionate, while fostering a non-judgmental and supportive environment that allows clients to fully address their concerns, better manage distress, and pursue a more enriching life. Her areas of interest include exploring the complexities of anxiety, depression, and trauma. She utilizes a strengths-based and person-centered approach, emphasizing empathy and non-judgment. Sydney incorporates elements from CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and psychodynamic therapy to help clients gain insight, build effective coping skills, and foster resilience. She strives to create a safe, compassionate environment where clients feel understood and supported in working toward their goals.
CURRENT PRACTICE
Sydney provides individual therapy for adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and difficult life transitions. Sydney utilizes a flexible and integrated approach that incorporates techniques geared toward helping clients in fostering self-awareness, aligning more fully with their values, developing healthy coping strategies, and pursuing a fulfilling and healthy life.
