EDUCATION
Elliot received his BA in Psychology from Carleton College and his MA in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Counseling Psychology (PsyD) at the University of St. Thomas.
EXPERIENCE
Elliot’s previous experience includes university counseling, community mental health, health promotion programming for college students, and case management. He has training in ERP (exposure and response prevention).
MENTAL HEALTH APPROACH
Elliot utilizes a warm, person-centered therapeutic approach, while drawing from ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) and self-compassion practices. He remains attuned to each client’s presenting needs and strives to create a safe environment in which all aspects of the self can be freely expressed. Elliot’s areas of interest include emerging adulthood, LGBTQIA+ well-being, men’s issues, and intersectionality within mental health.
CURRENT PRACTICE
Elliot’s clinical practice focuses on psychological assessments for adolescents and adults, as well as providing individual therapy for late adolescents and adults.
