EDUCATION
Dr. Macarena Corral obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Human Development from Boston College. She then received her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology.
EXPERIENCE
Macarena has extensive experience working in non-profit, outpatient, and correctional settings, supporting individuals with complex histories and diverse backgrounds. She is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment for every client, and her work is guided by a deep understanding of how challenging life experiences can impact mental health, behavior, and relationships.
CERTIFICATIONS
Macarena is a licensed clinical psychologist who is certified as a Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT) and Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) facilitator, and has trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Macarena completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2010 and her 500 hour yoga teacher training in 2022. She is currently working on her 1000 hour training through Yoga Medicine, including courses on women’s health, yoga for athletes, and mental health.

Macarena’s approach is rooted in collaboration and empowerment, aiming to highlight each individual’s unique strengths and needs. She views the assessment process as a cooperative effort that not only clarifies complex concerns but also fosters self-awareness and resilience. Clients working with Macarena can expect comprehensive, personalized evaluations that provide meaningful insights and practical recommendations to support positive change in their daily lives.
CURRENT PRACTICE
As a forensic psychologist, Macarena has extensive experience conducting a wide range of evaluations, including general diagnostic assessments, learning and IQ testing, ADHD evaluations, and a variety of court-related assessments such as psychosexual evaluations, risk assessments, domestic violence and anger management evaluations, competency evaluations, parenting capacity evaluations, and workers’ compensation evaluations. Macarena also collaborates closely with immigration attorneys to provide U-Visa, Asylum, and Extreme Hardship affidavits, as well as N-648 forms.
Macarena is bilingual and able to complete evaluations in both English and Spanish, and has significant experience working effectively with interpreters when needed.
